Arcanus Canum is set in a fantasy-like prehistoric era, during the time of Cretaceous period, where canine’s first ancestors, Primus Canis Dirus, dominated the land.

 

The Cretaceous period is characterized as a time (in which most people understand it as) where giant insects and spiders were able to live and sustain life on Earth along with a diverse group of dinosaurs. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to many, other fantastical beasts have made claims on these lands long before us; and will continue to do so.

Giant insects and grotesque beasts should be the least of your worries. During this time, the world is changing. The Earth’s tectonic plates are shifting and many natural disasters are occurring without further notice. Environments and natural habitats are changing, the climate is changing, and the land that we prowl cannot maintain two top predators.

Smilodon Populator, the dominating species and predecessor of the Felidae familia and a competitor to us, prowl the lands as well. The tides are against us;
